Jellyfish – Motion Graphics
Subverting the simple...Listening to a podcast by Dr Claire Rowe, she described the upside-down Cassiopea jellyfish as being “very slow” and “very simple”. While jellyfish aren’t inherently chaotic, their ability to invade, disrupt environments and animals around them is, especially where I’m from in Australia.
I was inspired to prove her wrong by subverting the simple jellyfish into something more energetic, bright and colourful. I represent this chaotic nature throughout my video by using punk imagery, overstimulating psychedelic visuals and editing to a fast-paced breakcore beat to convey the sudden spread of an invasive species.
